Northern Mexican State

What would be the name and details of a (non-filibustered,) state that exists in Northern Mexico.
EDIT: I mean Northern Mexico after the Mexican-American War.

República Libre y Soberano de Sonora
República Libre y Soberano de Chihuahua
República Libre y Soberano de Coahuila

Wasn't Sonora a filibuster state?

Sonora ALSO was a filibuster state (together with Lower California under Walker in 1854), but also a regular Mexican region (part of Occidente together with Sinaloa) prior to that (and since 1830 its own state).

Okay, thanks. But could there be a Name for all three that Zuvarq mentioned?

Or Noroeste? Since all three compose the region of Northwest Mexico.
The whole region--NW and NE--is and was historically referred to as "El Norte," and if it was only the northeastern provinces, they'd probably go with "la República del Río Bravo."

It's Noroeste, North-West
Gah, misread!

Hrmm...I'm unsure as to whether there's really a name for the NW as a region. The area was called Nueva Navarra and Nueva Andalucia once upon a time, so maybe that? Though I could see 'em going with "la República de Sonora" or "la República de Baja California/ de Cortés/ de Bermejo."

It would be Republica del Rio Bravo as the river is known in Mexico. And Riobravense would be the demonym.

If the republic encompasses Chihuahua and any other less northern state like Zacatecas and Durango. Republica de La Sierra Madre, would likely be it. This was also a lesser known, attempt to tell Santa Anna to fuck off in OTL. Serrano would be the nickname though full demonym might be Serranomadreleño.

And I think that if you include Sonora and Baja, since now it is encompassing land beyond the Rio Grande and the Sierra, Republica del Norte would be the only thing fitting the entire region. With Norteño as the demonym.
