North and South Korea, in 1905

What if the Russo-Japanese war ended with the Korean Peninsula being divided between Russian and Japanese zones at the 38th parallel?

Both Russia and Japan would be trying to influence the others portion of Korea and boot the other one out.
Whichever side supported Emperor Gojong tho, the other would have to find another ruler to support, not sure who would fit the bill, neither of them would be interested in supporting any socialist or nationalist leaders as they would both be interested in eventually annexing Korea.
Maybe the Japs play the Pan-Asian card promising to free the north form the 'evil' Russians, probably there would be another Russo-Japanese War within a decade.

The Russian Japanese war was fought over Manchuria [almost all the land Battle took place there]
You would need a major POD in the Russian Military. to allow them to invade and win in Korea.

I would like to see a TL about Russia winning the 1905 War and retaining it's Influence, and Investments, in Manchuria.
