Wesley Clark's "leadership" in the Kosovo War leads to war with the Russians, who experience their own hard-line coup. As the war turns into a disaster, with Russian and pro-Serb forces overwhelming NATO forces in Yugoslavia, several nations involved pull out fearing a nuclear confrontation with Russia. The Yankees fight on, however, and soon the Russians and their allies are pushing well into Bosnia. Leaders in Congress call for the firing of Clark, and the resignation of the President. Neither happens. The Americans, suffering heavy losses in the Balkans, pull forces out of Korea and Japan to fight in the Balkans, leading North Korea to declare war. China gives tacit, low-key support to the DPRK. When Korea and Japan request help, they are rebuffed. Clinton is impeached, and is ordered out of office, but he refuses to leave. Gore further refuses to assume office as Clinton will not vacate. Schwarzkopf orchestrates a coup, and two days later (some fighting ensues in Washington), the Speaker of the House (Hastert then, I think) is sworn in by William Rehnquist.
