No Zulu War 1878/79

Another idea from an articl;e I read in a hist mag at Borders yest: in 1878, Britain was desirous of not engaging in war against the Zulu Empire, but were influenced in the end to authorise an expedition only because of the machinations of Henry Bartle-Frere as High Commissioner of Southern Africa who wanted to do everything he could to remove the Zulus as an impediment to further British sovereignty. Therefore, the Zulu wars eventuated...

However, WI no Zulu Wars, say if no Bartle-Frere, or if his influence on London's Colonial Office was somehow curtailed ?

I always liked the idea of Zulu regiments in the British army, similar to the role the Gurkhas have played IOTL.
