No world war 2 impact on decolonization

Absentee World War 2 How long would it take for India , Africa and Middle East to became independent

Would there be larger post colonial nations

Would there be more white settler states or a larger population in the colonies

What areas would be retained

Yes and would Pakistan have gained independence or have a large amount of autonomy
It is really hard to say TBH. I'm inclined to say no without the situation as it was in 1946-47 post-war, but India itself could have fragmented later on even if it gained it's home rule statue peacefully.

It's still going to happen. Colonies are getting more expensive to administrate and defend and demand for self-determination is growing. And automatic weapons are beginning to be mass produced and to be available to non-Europeans. But it will happen more slowly and in a controlled fashion with more effort to build institutions over a longer period and with a better educated population. Probably a single federal India.
