No war guarantee to Poland in 1939.

What if Chamberlain in 1939 had not committed Britain to war if Poland's indepedence was threatened by Germany? How would Poland have reacted over the Danzig Question? How would Hitler have acted?

Chamberlain would be removed from office and the new prime minister would then issue the guarantee he failed to issue.
Not so sure about that. Chamberlain's pledge to Poland was a first for Britain as no other Prime Minister had staked Britain's future on Eastern Europe. Chamberlain coukd have drawn his" line in the sand "along the French, Belgian and Dutch borders. This would have made more sense in so many ways. These countries were all democracies, close to the UK, andv were not in a hopeless position like Poland was in 1939.

No, he could not. He was informed by his cabinet that he was to take a stand after the way he had been so utterly discredited by the collapse of Munich. That's why suddenly the UK was issuing guarantees.
