Since we've had a thread about no Internet, what about if TV was never developed as a medium? Assume if you like radio and films still exist. (Radio as a broadcast, consumer-oriented medium, might have to be ruled out.)
When I mean TV, I mean any means of sending pictures and sound from a camera to a screen, electronically, to be used as a broadast medium in the same way as radio broadcasts. (I don't mean two-way communications or signalling, but the usual stuff you find on AM and FM.)
For example, would CRT monitors still develop, and would computer graphics happen? (I dare say they might develop from the oscilloscope). Would video recordings still be feasible in any form, and what might the applications be?
How would it affect society and culture as a whole?
