The basic idea Napoleon III is either never return from exile, he breaks his neck escaping in 1846, or he gets kick out of France again in 1848 by the Provisional Government. With this, the Party of Order takes over, and bring back the Kingdom and the Orleanist by the mean of either Prince Philippe, Count of Paris, or François d'Orléans, Prince of Joinville.

So what now? How will France, and Europe look like? How would Philippe, or François rule?

Not gonna happen. The Orléans had screwed the pooch, so to speak and had little major support during the Second Republic; not to mention no one wanted a regency under Héléne, Duchesse d'Orléans. If anything a majority of the Party of Order supported a Bourbon restoration under Henri V, the Legitimists enjoying a brief revival. At best you could see a reconciliation between the Comte de Chambord and the Orléans Princes, though only if Héléne dies early.

Hmm, how interesting. How well would Henri do? And I look and he has no kids. So unless he has some ALT, it would go to Prince Philippe, Count of Paris, or Juan, Count of Montizón.
