No Lindbergh!

Laughably easy to achieve as his only accomplishment of the slightest import was the first non-stop flight over the Atlantic and he took such risks only because barely 48 hours after he took off Admiral Byrd, the polar explorer, started the trip in a plane large enough to carry supplies, air mail and three other men for the trip.

So if Lindbergh disappears over the Atlantic and Byrd takes his place, what effects might this have on history?

that is a very good question.

the thing that I can think of off the top of my head is that the isolationists can't present a figurehead able t generate as much clout.

Wiley Post becomes America's Aviator? Could butterfly his death...or at least alter it. That would rock!

Other than no "Lindie Hop" or other such kitch, I'd guess that pro-German groups lose some of their OTL clout without such a major icon behind them. Not sure about Post's politics.

Robert Taft was the leading politician that was an isolationalist.
