Stealing the thunder of the "No Brusilov Offensive" thread. What happens if no Kerensky offensive??
I wonder if a "no more offensives just hold the line mentality" would have been more possible for the Kerensky government (i.e. no July offensive)
Once the USA is in the allies would have been more tolerant of Russia willing to just stay in the line until the final peace is won.
Side effects:
a) Probably means no Rommanian offensive at Mărăşti???
b) I wonder if it means the Germans are happy to have the front idle and don't try Riga or the October Baltic offensive???
c) Is there then enough extra reserves and supplies for the Germans to try a bigger blow at Caparetto 1917 (attacking from the Tyrol too)???
d) Does the communist revolution happen anyway is of course the big question????
e) But even without the communist revolution does the Russian army and Navy eventually become so ineffective that a big German push in March 1918 (instead of in the west) causes a complete collapse and the Germans just occupy even more of Russia than they did OTL????
