Well, there would have been a noticeably smaller stream of Ugandan-Indian immigration to other British Commonwealth countries and the U.S. . That also means no Mississippi Masala, or at least a vastly different origin for the family in question. Also, the proxy wars in East-Central Africa take on a different character, with different players in Kenya and Tanzania.
 
Not sure. I'm pretty sure Idi Amin played a significant role in Milton Obote's seizure of the presidency, but I don't know if some other military officer also would've helped Obote.
