No Great Fire of London

I thought the Great Fire of London was due to the Doctor foiling the machinations of the Terileptal's in their attempt to kill off all of humanity with an enhanced strain of bubonic plague? They were going to release thousands of rats onto London to infect the population, but when the weapon off the lead Terileptal's weapon exploded, it caused a fire that destroyed all of the rats and eventually most of London. Tell you what I know about history. :p

Just to really add something relevant to this discussion. Almost every great city and many smaller ones have suffered from large fires from time to time before the advent of modern fire fighting techniques and equipment and modern building materials. It many modern cities, it would be tough, but not impossible for the same thing to happen.

DR Who eh? you're the first person besides my dad to mention ity that I've seen. I think i've pretty mcuh seen every Dr. Who episode at one point or another in myl ife...

I have seen every Dr Who episode from Patrick Troughton's final episode War Games, through the last regular episode with Sylvester McCoy called Survival. I made copies of lots of Dr Who episodes during the late 80's and early 90's when they were playing on PBS here. That covers everything from Pertwee (who I met in 1987) to McCoy. I also have lots of epidoes on video and DVD that I bought. I am a big fan and can't wait to see what the new series will look like.

..oh boy a *new* series.... well I hoep it doesn't come out for a few years so I'll be in college and not at home so I can avoid seeing it... until I come home for break/summer...

I also have Willima Hartnell and Partick Troughton episodes, though not an unbroken line or anything like that.

The new series comes out 2005. Christopher Eccleston will be the new Docotr. There will be 13 45 minute episodes. So if you live in England and you are a Docotr Who Fan you are in for a treat. I don't know when we will get to see it here in the states. When Dr Who was a going concern in the late 80's, we had a one season lag here. Georgia Public TV was showing the Sylvester McCoy episodes only a few months after they finished showing in England.
