No French Expedition to Egypt

I'm surprised that there isn't a lot of discussion on this topic but what if Napoleon Bonaparte never went to Egypt?

Obviously the Rosetta Stone wouldn't be discovered (or discovered later) and Mehmed Ali wouldn't have ascended to the position of Wali (an Ottoman Governor) without the invasion. But the expedition was also a wakeup call for the Ottomans that they needed to reform. So without that would we see a weaker Ottoman Empire?

The most pressing effect is that the Arab cultural rebirth movement would be put off indefinitely, resulting in stronger Turkic hegemony of the region into the nineteenth century.

Actually that could mean that the Ottoman empire is stronger going into the modern day given how at-least some of its issues with nationalist movements are dealt with letting them focus far more on the European issues rather than their attention being split like in OTL.

Perhaps the French sign a proper alliance with the ottomans, aimed at attacking the habsburg empire. The French would send military officers to help the Porte organize its armies. I think France would be stronger because the Egyptian campaign was a waste, and the ottomans could be a helpful ally. Napoleon might not gain dictatorial power and so France wouldn't have a tremendous ego, trying to conquer the continent.
