No France

Let's suppose that the Franks never come into existence. Somega other barbarian tribe would end up ruling Gaul, but which one? What candidates would there be? What would a world without France be like? What if?

I think I saw a timeline where Franks landed in Britain while Gaul was eventually conquered by Slavs. Thus leading to France being located on British Isles and Poland in OTL France.

Maybe the Alemanni move intoi northern Gaul, while the Viisgoths hold on in the south.

"All quiet on the German-Spanish border".

Have the Angles, Saxons, Jutes and Frisians move to Gaul instead of Britain, like in one of Thande's MOTF contest maps.

English(ish) France! :D

Either that, or Burgundians. Because Burgundy is inevitable. ;)

I think that if the Franks don't move to France and some other germanic tribe, i think the only thing that would change in France would be the name (and of course the butterflies due to event in other countries, where the Franks go, where the tribe that went to gaul didn't go), but swapping one germanic tribe for another would probably not result in a lot of change as the culture didn't really change.

For the sake of this being interesting how bout we go with one of the Roman remnant warlords being the one to capitalize on the situation enough to unite Gaul.
