No Exclusion Bill

In 1679, under the leadership of Anthony Ashley Cooper, Earl of Shaftesbury, Parliament of Great Britain introduced the Exclusion Bill.
The Exclusion Bill barred Catholics from inheriting the throne.
Suppose there had been no Exclusion Bill.
 
The Exclusion Bill was introduced in the House of Commons.
A fringe group there began to support the claim to the throne of Charles II's Protestant son, the Duke of Monmouth.
