In a scenario where the Wiemar Republic survives and the European component of World War II doesn't occur, what will happen to Japan? If Japan continues on a similar course, the invasion of China will go as IOTL, and the USA will place an oil embargo on Japan, as IOTL. But what now? Will Japan still go after the USA and the DEI when the Europeans aren't distracted by the Nazis? If what the Japanese did IOTL was foolhardy, doing that in this ATL would be suicide. Would they go after the USA? While the oil embargo was considered an act of war, there is nothing really there to seize for oil, unless it's a 'give us oil and we'll give you Hawaii back' or some-such. Then there is Russia, who has oil to be taken but has to be beaten to get to it. And I suppose there is always the peaceful path, although I doubt that the militarists would take that. So which path would they choose?
