No Chinese intervention in Korean War

I don't really foresee an American success significantly delaying the 22nd amendment.

Especially since President Truman pushed the passage of it himself, which means he likely wouldn't have sought a third term, despite being legally eligible.

Best case scenario for a conflict on the Korean Peninsula without an intervention by China? A united Korea which is friendly to the United States and her interests. I don't see China or the Soviet Union tolerating that. If they hold back they are leaving a nation built upon the ideals of their enemies literally right on their doorsteps. To keep Korea secure Seoul would have to build up an extremely powerful national military (as they have done), and a much more substantial U.S. presence would be required at all times.
