#1 of the two threads I plan to publish within the next half hour regarding Thermopylae. Now, history tells us that the Persians won because they used a small pass to circle 'round the Spartans. Now, supposing that pass doesn't exist, and Xerxes has no choice but to attempt to slug it out with the Greeks. The Athenian admiral Themistocles was wiping the floor (or sea, as it were) with Persia's navy, and the army had already suffered three humiliating and brutally demoralizing defeats at the hands of the Spartans.
Now, what does Xerxes do? And what would be the after effects?
