If Hitler doesn't invade Poland, the German economy collapses. What that entails (military coup, civil war that serves to draw in all of Europe, the break up of Germany) has so many possibilities. In the end, it is still likely better than what the Nazis brought to the table.Hitler does something rational. He does not invade Poland, France, and start World War Two - would there still be a world war?
Not true at all. Germany was the marvel of the Industrialized World at the time with Universal Healthcare no less.

Germany was on a completely unsustainable course due to its military spending and would collapse without direct injection of resources through pillage. I do agree with you, universal healthcare does save money for governments while being much more effective than the alternative, yes, but absurdly oversized military spending counterbalances this many times, making the Nazi Germany’s economic model utterly dependent on war to survive.
Then they get stuck with Italy. Ouch. What if they had instead invaded Italy? Putting the rationale of Germany attacking its closest ally aside, would Britain, France, or the Soviet Union have any vested interest in helping the Italians?
