No Bourbon Restoration

It seems that besides Louis XVI there were ideas to place no the French throne Napoleon's son, Francois, and Napoleon's former Marshal Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte who would be Sweden's new King, and even Napoleon was offered to stay in the throne if he had agreed to return France to pre 1792 borders.

Could any of these have flown through?

Assuming all battles go as OTL and any differences would come at the negotiating table - the British favored Bourbon restoration, the Austrians were happy to have Napoleon personally abdicate in favor of his infant son, the Prussians wanted France carved up into multiple countries, and Russia had no fixed opinion and tended to agree with the last person who spoke. Discounting Prussia's idea as unworkable, it seems clear enough that Russia could be swayed to Austria's point of view, resulting in a continuing Empire.

I'm confident Napoleon himself wouldn't be permitted to retain the throne under any circumstances. I can't imagine who would favor Bernadotte - none of the four opinions that matter would rate him as a better choice than the ones already on the table, and Britain and Austria don't have positions so irreconcilable that a dark horse compromise candidate need be considered.

I strongly doubt Russia would support the Bonaparte dynasty retaining the throne since Alexander I wanted to bring down Napoleon and the french imperial regime.

If Napoleon had made peace before Leipzig or just after Leipzig, he may have retained the throne for himself or for his son. France being defeated on its soil, Napoleon was finished. And there was no reason to make such a present to his dynasty as allowing a 3 years old child to become emperor. Child mortality was high and nobody knew if this son would live long enough.

Bernadotte would never have been accepted. Most french people held him as a traitor who had stabbed the country in the back.

I suppose the Duc d'Orleans could be placed on the throne instead of the main-line Bourbons(as was considered after the Hundred days), it wouldn't technically be a Bourbon Restoration. However, the main problem is no one (except Emperor Franz) wanted to let Napoleon II remain Emperor of France, and there wasn't any other real options. Dividing France up would breed resentment and lead to a continued destabilization throughout Europe, as would the ludicrous possibility of a Republic. For the Allies, France needed a King, and the Bourbons were the best option.
