No Baby Boom

Hi!

Suppose that World War II ends with Americans getting paranoid that the Russians will take them over. They decide to not bring as many babies into the world only to see them die in an atomic fireball. As a result, the Baby Boom disappears and the birth rate in the late 1940's and 1950's is the same as it was in the 1930's.

What would the effects of this been on politics and American culture?

Thanks in advance,

ACG
Or also if the pill is discovered in 1920s...
The problem is also of mentality.
For exemple the boys back from the war, with more money in the pockets for post war prosperity
could said:
"At the Hell! i was a boy in the hard times of the depression,i was a young man in the hard times of the war,
now i want enjoy the life, not be a breadwinner for a bunch of kids"!
Women could take the pill (that in this timeline was invented in 20s) for sex without troubles,
and the married couples have one or almost two kids.
So nothing baby boom.
Well without baby boom we have a very different pop culture in 1960s an 70s.
Is much probable that pop music is more conservative (Jazz,
Crooners like Frank Sinatra,Tony Bennet,Bobby Darin),
so nothing Beatles or Stones.
None counterculture,
the society in late 60s and 70s is similiar at the "Mad Men" world.
For other hand, today we don't have all this troubles with the pension system.
Now,considered that i love Sinatra and Bobby Darin and i like Mad men..well this is the timeline for me.:p:rolleyes:
