Nixon-Ford ticket wins in 1960

Gerald Ford was on Nixon's vice-presidential shortlist. What if

1. Nixon picks Ford as his running mate.

2. Nixon wins the 1960 election, thanks to a slight swing of votes in Michigan (due to Ford), as well as in Illinois and Missouri.

What happens next? What does Nixon's term look like? What political future does Gerald Ford have?

Electoral Votes: Nixon 275, Kennedy + Uncommitted 260

Probably not great. I doubt if Ford could stir up enough support to win the nomination for President. Remember in OTL Ford was the President in 1976 and nearly lost the Republican Nomination to Ronald Reagan.

What is funny is he never wanted to be President instead he always dreamed of being Speaker of the House.
