Newfoundland joins with the United States?

Barbardos and the Bahamas might have fit well as small Canadian provinces like PEI. The rest of the region might be too unstable, or just too small and impoverished. The richest islands, Bermuda and the Caymans, have good deals (nominal British rule) that serve well their banking and tourist industries--why would they want to be part of Canada?

One, The Bahamas and Bermuda were not a part of the WIF. Two, there was a movement to join Canada as a province, from what I read the biggest problem was how the provinces of the West Indies would join Canada, retaining their provincial status, or being turned into several amalgamated provinces or even becoming a single Jamaican dominated province.

Replacing the Maple leaf with one from a certain other plant? ;)

I'm just not sure what would work...
