New Fan here!

I didn't know where to post this so I thought I'd try here. I just signed up and wanted to say hi. I'm 42, I teach History in Texas and have a degree in social sciences/Education and my masters degree in Education administration. I am a big fan of Harry Turtledove and Harry Harrison. Anyway, I'm excited to be a part of this community. BTW my name is John.

Hi John, I'm sure you'd like to meet some of our other Texans and talk about independence while firing off large weapons. I'm from Canada.

Welcome to the board! We have a quite a few eccentrics, but you will get used to them:) We look forward to hearing from you frequently!

Nice to meet you John, welcome to the board! I suggest checking out some of the timelines written by members on this site. Check the timelines and scenarios forum or click on the links in many of our more advanced members signatures.

Well, I am a Texan and I do not talk about independence or fire weapons of any sort. But to be honest, I am a DammYankee (the differnce between an ordinary Yankee and a DammYankee is that ordinary Yankees eventually go home).
Welcome to the board John. I hope that you can join Mr. Marty as a FER (Friend of the Early Republic) and entertain and educate us with Federalistwanks, Republicanwanks and all manner of OTLs starring Washington, Jefferson, Jay and a certain Caribbean born (but qualified to be President of the United States) New York lawyer.

Thanks for the endorsement. Btw, so we won't have to move the thread :p; anyone read my TL yet? Its set in pre-1900 America John I highly recommend it (although I am the author:D). Sorry MNPundit, couldn't pass it up.

I guess my forte is U'S. history with a good knowledge of Civil War, World War Two and 1960's political history. I also like English and roman history. I teach Texas History so I'm very good in it also. I served in the military in the 1980's and love military history.

Welcome, fellow Texan! I hope you enjoy your times here.

A friendly piece of advice all new members should know: I'd shy away from making your second topic, "What if Hitler had invaded Britain?"
