New Composite Time Line?

Whats that?
Evrybody starts at the same time, and writes ten years, then we show each other? Or what?
Think I am interested.

As things stand I like the idea, but I think we should be allowed to keep things general. Some of the posts last time round were so incredibly detailed there is no way in hell I could produce something like that, especially if work picks up (and if it doesn't God knows where I'll be anyway)

Actually I rather like this idea too, another take and an interesting one

Basically we come up with a PoD and each person gets a certain amout of years to contine the TL, and then after them, somehow esle does the same amount and so on and so on.

The last TL was about a succesfully English invasion of South American during the Napoleonic wars, After the PoD some had years 1807-1812 and then the next person had 1812-1817 and so on and so forth.

We've got 5, i would like atleast 10 before we start talking about PoDs unless everyone whats to try what Alayta suggested, which i liked, maybe we could try a mixture of the two

Sure, why not. Life was going pretty good when I was doing the Comp TL II. Things went downhill when we stopped. Yeah, I'm superstitious.

Its a good point - Ward tried to start one a month or two ago to which I contributed a POD but then no one ran with it at all. So having got participants, then agreeing a POD makes sense.

I would say though that it should be up to each writer how much detail he puts in about other parts of the world, otherwise you are asking for masses of research. That's what really put me off the last one, and why I eventually ducked out. It would seem OK to leave gaps, and someone can later fill them in at need. For example, if one author wants to focus on Europe then the next author can fill in the back-story over the USA as long as he doesn't contradict anything that's been said, or implied. Having to keep all the balls spinning on all areas of the world looked increasingly like a nightmare I was glad not to be in in the end
