First off I was honestly hoping more people would be willing to try this, but oh well.
Anyways here is what would happened if the Americans and British had come to a deal over Hawaii and the SW Pacific. In return for allowing the United States annex Hawaii the British received a sizable part of the area of former German New Guinea Colony along with the US dropping its claim to Samoa. The map below is the area that would end up being American land that was formally German New Guinea after this deal/treaty. What is in the black circle is still American.
Relations between the British and Americans still isn't great after 1898 but it doesn't go to hell in a hand bag either. The US ITL however doesn't carve a port out in China at first. Instead they still go down the Open Door Notes ITL. However the Boxer War still happens in this Prime New Balance TL. The US however does carve a port out of China in the aftermath of the Boxer War. Only this port is Chusan, instead of what the US got in the main thread for New Balance. This is done through a series of deals between the US, British, French, and Germans. The US doesn't get any enclaves in Shanghai, Canton, nor Tienstin. They also get a much smaller part of the Boxer indemnity than they got in the main New Balance thread as well. They also give the British, French, and Germans special treatment for the next 25 years at Chusan. But the US draws out a concession from the other powers as well, they agree that will be no further demands for Chinese territory.
The Russo-Japanese war still happens and like OTL and ITL in New Balance the Japanese kick the Russian asses fairly good. Yet a notable difference is Japan ends up walking away with all of Sakhalin instead of having it divided like OTL and ITL in New Balance. However the next notable different is in the Philippines, there is no Spanish-Japanese War ITL. Instead of Japanese Business men being killed by Filipino rebels like New Balance prime, its American Business men in redux. Spain remembers the Spanish American War and knows its not going to defeat the United States in a war and doesn't even try. Instead to keep war from happening with the US for a second time they agree to sell the Philippines and all those Pacific Islands they still control to the United States for a large sum of money, around 100 million USD. All those Pacific Islands are turned into unorganized territories within the US. The Philippines however is turned into a Commonwealth after the American-Filipino War of 1910-1916 and put on a path of becoming their own nation, say 1950ish.
World War One starts in 1916 instead of 1915 in the Redux version of New Balance. The sides break down between the Germans, Austro-Hungarians, Italians, Ottomans, Belgians and Romanians, against the French, British, Greeks, Belgians, Russians, and Bulgarians. The shit starts over the down fall of the Ottomans who got tag team between the Greeks, Bulgarians, and Russians. The Germans tried to stop it the Russians fuck up and cause a diplomatic shit storm. Yes the Belgians still have their civil war. And yes the war becomes a cluster fuck. However the US is more a true neutral instead of clearly favoring the CP as in New Balance proper. Through the whole Belgium thing unnerved them a bit like most neutrals. The US does get more pissy as the British go with a distance blockade that basically only allows them to trade rocks with the Germans and CP. But the British aren't fucking around with the Americans. The Italians have to throw in with the CP because they can't even come up with a laughable reason to get out of their treaties this time.
In 1917 the US gets into a second war with Mexico as things in Europe heat up to new levels. In Europe the CP have the upper hand on land, but the British have the upper hand over the waves. Both the Germans and British get into tangos with the US over trade during 1917. The Germans because of USW around the British Isles and the Channel. The British because they block trade via neutrals that ends up in the CP. However these both end peacefully as neither wants to get the US into this war and the Americans want to focus on defeating Mexico. The US Army isn't as well equipped at this point as they hadn't been beefing up the Army like they had the navy in New Balance Prime where both got beefed up. Because of this and a sizable part of the Army still in the Philippines the Second Mexican American War is a lot harder for the US. Things in Europe is effective by this as the US isn't trading with either side as much before it got mixed up with Mexico but it still better than nothing.
The Second Mexican-American War ends in 1920. The US is a lot less kind to Mexico here in 1920. On top of annexing Baja, Sonora, and Chihuahua like in New Balance Prime, they also annex Durango and Sinaloa as well. On top of setting up the Rio Grande Republic they also set up puppet two more puppet states. The first is the Republic of Zacatecas and the second is the Yucatan Republic (The Yucatan Peninsula). Mexico has major trade deals that heavily favor the US as well. Back over in Europe, the Russians bow out around the same time Mexico signs its peace treaty with the US. The terms of the treaty that Russia uses to exit the war are more along the lines of the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk than what happened in New Balance Prime. With the flood of German troops the French and British break in the west by the winter of 1920. Both sides seek out peace now.
America host this peace summit. Germany only gets the returns of its African colonies, the Japanese keep the German Chinese Colony. However the British and French agree to the ITL treaty of Brest-Litovsk being the new normal in Eastern Europe. In western Europe, the Germans annexes all of Lorraine and Alsace that were still French control at the start of the war. All French people in these areas are forced out by treaty. The Germans also annex Luxembourg and Belgian Luxembourg. Belgium becomes a treaty neutral in this treaty. The Italians get Nice, Savoy, and Corsica in Europe along with Tunisia in North Africa but they lose their East African colonies to the British. The Ottoman Empire loses control of Mesopotamian to the British along with Palestine. The British also get the Belgian Congo. No one in Europe is happy with this treaty but jack shit they can do right at the moment through.
Even through "peace" has returned, people are still dying by the brush. France collapses into civil war, as does Russia and the Ottoman Empire. The Poles reject their new German overlords even through they tried to rule by proxy in Poland. The Raj revolts against the British. Austria-Hungary collapses in 1922 and almost leads to another war in Europe. Only timely dancing by the Germans and British keep it from sparking another war. France goes to Nappy V and slowly start to fall into Berlin Orbit. Russia becomes ruled by cluster fuck of an asshole in military dictatorship. The Ottoman Turks beat the living shit out of the Arabs in Syria and Lebanon forcing them into British Mesopotamian and Palestine at gunpoint. The Polish get the worse end of it as many get to live in the brand new Russia as serfs and Poland is annexed outright by the Germans. The Croatians and Bosnian get their freedom. The Serbs catch a lucky break and they don't suffer the fate of the Poles. Many being forced out are allowed back in. Germany gets Austria and what is the Czech Republic. Italy gets what it wants and then some. The Hungarians get the rest. British return to control the Raj after a lot of death there.
By the time peace has really return everyone needs to cut their defense sending and the naval treaties start in 1925. Everyone gets more than the OTL Washington Naval Treaty but less than New Balance Prime. The market tanks in 27. More defense cuts in the next round of naval treaties in 29. Yet outside the Spanish and Portuguese no one falls to the communist plague through they try in Hungary and Bulgaria ITL but they badly fail. In 32 the Italians make a clean break with Berlin and signs an alliance with the British. The British then hold their nose and signs a treaty with the Russians in 35 throwing the Japanese under the bus. The Japanese who are still sane enough cuts a deal with the United States for an alliance. The British get piss at that. But not much they can do. Manchuria becomes a Japanese puppet in 37.
The shooting starts in 41 between the French and the communist Spanish. The British and their allies quickly dog pile for various reasons on the Berlin-Paris-Constantinople alliance. The Americans and Japanese keep a weather eye as Europe just goes to hell. The British then invade Norway, with the Germans launching their own invasion soon their after going through Denmark. This causes the US to occupy Greenland. In Iceland they run into the British trying to do the same thing. One thing leads to another and a major cap ship battle breaks out around Reykjavik. The Americans win, barely. But they use this as their reason for war and they invade Canada in the spring of 42. Japan goes on its tear against the Russians out of Manchuria. Italy sees the error of her ways and switches sides in 43. The war gets bloody with the first nuke being used by the US in 44 against the Royal Navy fleet at Scapa Flow. All told 25 to 33 nukes are used in this war (I didn't nail that number down) with the Americans, Germans, and British all using them. The Washington-Berlin-Paris-Tokyo-Constantinople alliance wins the war by 47.
The US annexes Western Canada(Manitoba-Ontario Border), plus the islands in the Lakes/St Lawrence, and what they have historical claims in the east. They set up three puppets out of Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes. Quebec gets the part of Newfoundland that is on the mainland. The US annexes Newfoundland, the British Caribbean minus British Honduras that goes to Guatemala, other British controlled islands in the North and South Atlantic. They annex all British islands in the Pacific leaving the Australians (No Imperial Federation ITL as the US wasn't casting its shadow in the SW Pacific no where like New Balance Prime, so the New Zealanders refuse) only control of Papua, everything else out of that is now American dirt. Ireland (This includes Northern Ireland) becomes an American puppet. Japan annexes Hong Kong, Singapore, British Malaya, British Borneo, and other British holdings in China. Manchuria takes the Korean path and becomes part of the Japanese Empire. In the Russian Far East the Japanese annexes Primorsky Krai and goes as far east as Lake Baikal. The US takes Kamchatka, Chikotka, and Magadan. Khabarovsk remains Russian to serve as a buffer between the US and Japan as they had never been close and it was more an alliance of the enemy of my enemy is my friend. That's over now.
Back in Europe France takes back what it lost to Italy at the end of WWI. Germany takes a bite as Italy as well by taking Trieste and the land needed to link it to the German Empire. They take Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast from Russia and they get the Konigsberg treatment as well in Trieste. They carve a number of new kingdoms in Russia west of the Volga. The Ottomans make gains in the Caucasus along with setting up a few puppets there as well. They retake what they lost in WWI from the British in a bloody campaign, think OTL Eastern Front WWII. In Africa the Germans get the pick of the litter of British colonies there. France retakes Tunisia from the Italians. The Italians retake their old Eastern African holdings from the British along with taking Malta. The French and Italians fight over the colonies the Germans don't take but Germany favors the French over the Italians so they get the bulk of these colonies. Spain is broke up as is the rest of the British Isles. The US annexes Greenland, Iceland, and Faroe Islands. Scotland gets an ex-Austrian Kaiser as its new ruler. England gets a German prince, Wales gets a French prince. Spain is nothing but French princes there as its broken up in about a half dozen new nations. Portugal gets its monarch restored. The British Raj become a republic under Indian leadership.
The UN forms with Washington, Paris, Berlin, and Tokyo being the UNSC ITL. A cold war forms between Washington and Berlin-Tokyo. Paris being the wild card.
