New Amsterdam remains Dutch

Twists and turns in Anglo/Dutch negotiations leaves Manhattan a portion of the lower Hudson and related bits like Staten island & western Long Island as a rump Dutch colony. How does this affect the Rebellion of the 1770s & eventual development of any breakaway British colonies?

If the US does exist I'm thinking the upper Hudson/Erie canal route to the NW territory might not develop as the primary? Or would Dutch money ensure it is?

Would Dutch capitol compete with London for investment in the new nation?

How does this Dutch speaking population affect the breakaway nation/s politically and culturally?

Would New Amsterdam remain Dutch, or tensions develop that cause a 'US/Dutch war & eventual annexation of NA?

I do think the borders would be established after the Gloriush revolutuon, and might be a bit langer, compacte to the present state of New York. This would be confirmed, with some alterations after the war of the spanish succesion.
Since New Amsterdam way of tule was a copy of the original there would capital and freedom of entrepreneur ship in orde to provide a healthy invesrment climate.

Colonist however would be heterogenus, not all Dutch. Dutch colonist might setle in some langer number after 1740ties due to economic decline of the Dutch Republic.
Cultural the impact would be kust a bit langer, but more on common rule and law than on language.

New Amstrdam would be a pivotal but ambivalent rol in the British- French wars of the 18th Century.
Duringthe American Revolutuon it would probably draged in quite fast and be part of the war as it was in out time.
Since the station and the position of the Dutch Republic after 1776 rapitly detoriate, the Republic was by now an oliarchy, pupet state and on the brink of civil war, it is more likely that the citizens of New Amsterdam chose to join the USA. The rulers of the Dutch Republic are too preocupied and devided and would accept this as a fait a compli

If the Napoleonic wars happen as in otl and New Amsterdam still is dutch at this point, would the british seize it like they did South Africa? Because that will rustle some American jimmies.

And then the war of 1812..
Assuming an American revolution and of course a USA that is like ours

I find timelines leading to an independent New York City fascinating, but there is a problem with the "Dutch keep New Amsterdam" scenario.

The problem is that the British didn't just take over New Amsterdam. They wound up taking over the entire Dutch colonial empire, except for what became Indonesia and a couple of Caribbean islands. And they could have taken Indonesia too but they thought they had enough already.

During the American War of Independence, while the British were fighting the Americans, French, Spanish, and Mysore, they declared war on the United Provinces to take over more Dutch colonies, and actually diverted expeditions from elsewhere to grab some of them.

So you probably need a massive England scew to keep them from New Amsterdam/ New York, and in that case the next most likely colonial power to establish itself in the area will turn to be France. It doesn't help that Dutch investors and politicians prioritized just about all their other holdings over New Amsterdam.

Only after 1780.
Possible keeping of New Amsterdam would have been 1665...1690.
Butterflies.

Similar ideas to mine.

If New Amsterdam retains its primary ties to the Dutch homeland or empire, then whatever English speaking independent nation/s adjacent should have some stronger economic and political interactions with the European Dutch & empire.
