New AltHist novel: What if the Russian Revolution had never happened?

The largest point of departure is Alexander II surviving the assassination attempt of 1881 and going back to the Winter Palace to sign the constitution he had been planning on signing, which established a Duma and made the Romanovs constitutional monarchs. There are also smaller points of departure- Prime Minister Stolypin survived the assassination attempt of 1911, and Stolypin survived his brain tumor in 1915, so Nicholas II also had the benefit of their continued advice.

On the one hand, the Nazis still coming to power without the USSR is a bit of a hard sell, but on the other hand it seems to be narrative fiction with Tsar Alexei as the protagonist, so I can understand that the author doesn't want to get bogged down in explaining how some OTHER form of ultranationalist took hold of Germany and just have a bad guy we can all recognize(and hate). Seems interesting, I might check it out.

I guess another one of Germany's neighbors could go communist.
