Neville Chamberlain

The debate in Parliament May 1940 the government won by 80 the vote of no confidence. Churchill concluded the debate with a vigorous speech in support of the government. Could / should Chamberlain stay as PM until his death in November? If Churchill Minister for the Coordination of Defence, would it be possible for Anthony Eden take over?

That majority was massively down on what it should have been and Chamberlain realised that a coalition government was required for the sake of the country. Unfortunately Labour wouldn't join if he stayed at PM. So, no, Chamberlain cannot stay as PM until his death.
