Netherlnads draged into WW1 feed back needed

I like to have some thoughts and posibilities if the Netherlands were dragged inot the WW1 conflict.
There are some posibilities:
August 1914
-Germany invades ( a part) of the southern Netherlands as part of the Schliefenplan. This is due to purpose or by acident
-Germany declares war to the Netherlands due to ( accidental) fire fight at the border.
-Germany declares war to the Netherlands due to a confusing message, that Netherlands are invaded/ supported by the Entente.
-Entente declares war to the Netherlands
- to protect Antwerp
- to invade Germany
- to Disrupt the trade to Germany
-due to a confusing message, that Netherlands are invaded supported by Germany.
1916 to 1918
-Germany declares war for variuos resons

Any time of the conflict:
-The Netherlands join the Entente
-The Netherlands join Germany

Any thought how a conflict will evolve if there is a Northen front at the West?
Will it have any implications if there is a (static) front at the North?

Any feed back is much appriciated

In the majority of cases, if Germany ends up at war with the Netherlands they will quickly overwhelm them, subdue them and get on with the main business of the war.

The only potential exception is if the Entente has Netherlands support at the beginning, then this provides additional space, etc....

...sorry got busy here

It really depends on how the Netherlands gets involved in the war. There will be a big difference to the Netherlands getting invaded by the Germans at the same time asthe Belgians or the Netherlands decides to join the Germans.

Anyway the most important part to realise is that both the Dutch army and navy is terrible. The Netherlands will add basicly nothing to the war effort of both sides.

In case the Netherlands joins Germany, the Germans might be able to profit from the Dutch infra structure and a slight increase in manpower. The important question is: will that be enough to defeat France? Probably not. The Dutch navy will be defeated as quickly as the German navy by the English and the Netherlands will lose all colonies to the allies. Most of Indonesia will end up British, although the Portuguese and, if they are lucky, the Japanese might get some. (My guess Borneo, Java, Celebes and Sumatra to the British, small Sunda islands to Porugal and malukans to Japan or Portugal). The American colonies will probably end up French and/or American and the Netherlands loses Limburg and Zeelandic Flanders to Belgium.

If Germany invades the Netherlands, their ivasion of France goes slightly smoother, but not enough to capture Paris. The Germans will easily defeat the Dutch army, which retreats behind the waterline, where it remains until the end of the war. The Dutch waterline is a formidable defense and will not be breached, certainly if the Dutch army is strengthened by colonial troops and British and Dominion soldiers. This lengthens the German lines, which will be bad for them and the Germans lose the very useful Neutral ports the Dutch provided. In the end the Germans will be defeated, a little easier than OTL.

Pitty not that many feed back

( Woeps see a typo error in the title)

Supling Germany by neutral Dutch ports is overrated, Scandinavian ports will do as well.

Dutch army is small, but not out dated or neglected in 1914, and certanly not dressed in red trossers and bright blue coats as the French, but dark blue or even ''modern'' field gray, armed with a modern rifle from 1895 design. More modern than most armies. Guns were up to date as well.

What will be the gains for the Netherlands when it joins the Entente after a Entente victory in 1917 or 1918?
Dutch armyand Entente reiinforcements, probably sit it out behind various water lines, easy to defend, but difficult base to start counter attacks or offensives.

What will be the gains for the Netherlands when it joins the Germans after a German victory in 1917 or 1918?
In the process it has lost all its colonies to Franche, Brittain and maybe Japan.

some other ''casus belli'':

1914
Enetente could invade the Netherlands, Province of Zeeland, in an attemped to supply the city of Antwerp.
1914 Germany could invade the Netherlands, due to an error, but when it happened unleash a whole army against the Dutch.
Dutch will not try to stand, but will fight delay fights so it can with draw in good order behind the variuos water lines.
Note: German army was finally stoped in Belgium behind a water line.

During the war, Entente invades the Northen provinces of the Netherlands in order to invade the North of Germany and capture German naval bases ( idea of Churchill)

During the last years of the war it joins the Germans. Dutch population is hit almost as hard by the naval blockade and seisure of merchant ships by the Brittish as the Germans. Geral vafour of the populations and many leadres still tends towards the Germans.
