See above. Suppose the British take the Dutch territories in North and South America along with Ceylon at the end of the Napoleonic Wars, perhaps along with some or a lot of territories in Southeast Asia, but give back the Cape Colony to the Netherlands along with some other African territories.
What would the impacts of this change be in the short and long term for Great Britain (especially prior to the construction of the Suez Canal) and for most of southern Africa that that wound up as part of Great Britain's African colonies? Would the Netherlands be more significantly involved in the Scramble for Africa as a result, would it have any effect on Belgium's future independence or Netherland's influence in Europe?
