Probably pretty similar - it was more the weight of sanctions and international condemnation that caused the collapse of the apartheid state (combined with demographic factors - a decreasing white birth rate combined with a rapidly increasing black birth rate), than the work of any one individual. One thing you might see is a post-Apartheid government less dominated by the ANC - the Communist Party, Democratic Party, (New) National Party, and others would likely take significant slices out of it without some form of public unifying figure.
 
I don't think it would be that much different initially. The problem would be within the ANC itself, with no unifying figure, and we could see the public spats (which became evident this decade) to happen a little earlier.
