Need some help with a Caesar-less rome

I am busy working on a Scythia TL, and a while ago I asked how I could finish off the Roman empire sooner.
I got some great ideas out of that, and I could progress greatly.

now I only have one major problem to solve.

supposible Caesar died at the battle of the Sabis, his head taken in triumph by Boduognatus of the Nervii tribe.

what happens to Rome afterwards??
what shall happen to Pompey, Crassus and all the other major players of OTL??

we have to consider this:

ITTL: around 73BC the Scythians and Romans defeated Mithridatas, effectivly ending Pontus as an independant state. it will be divided between a Roman province and a Scythian protectorate, ruled by Mithridatas of Colchis. Armenia will be locked between Parthia, Roma and Scythia.

so Rome's influence in the east is smaller, and relations between the three powers is tense. Popmey still hase his triumphs, only his victory over Pontus is taken away.

iff more information is nessecary, I will provide;)

Well if Caesar dies then it is possible Crassus' son Publius also dies as he was with Caesar at this time. Given Crassus' ambition to lead a Roman army (OTL Parthian disaster) I can see him trying to avenge the death of his son and his fellow triumvir and protege Caesar.

It will probably end badly if Pompey does not participate (which I suspect he wouldn't). Pompey married Publius' widow in OTL and I could see him being called on to clean up Gaul after the failures of Caesar and Crassus. However Vercingetorix is just about to revolt and this could be a third Roman army dying in Gaul with a little bad luck and a complete annihilation of the first triumvirate

God knows where Rome would go then

something like this??

Say that Pompey becomes Dictator or Consul and the Optimates obtain power...is that "saving" the Republic? or simply condemning it to long series of dictators ala Sulla, with the Optimates and the military being the power behind the non-throne?

Let's assume that Pompey dies shortly after Caesar, avoiding a potential civil war between the Senate and Pompey should Pompey decide he wants more power, or the Senate decide to double-cross the General.

Titus Labienus, Cato, the Optimates and maybe the Pompey Family continue to rule Rome, with some wars against the Populare and Caesarian remnants being possibilities in the decade following Caesar's death.

All that is needed is to prevent another great Man of History such as Caesar or Augustus from overcoming the obstacles that are the Senate and the other institutions within the Republic. Whether that is possible given the late history of the Republic or the Republic's own militaristic and expansionist nature, is hard to determine.
