Nazis in the Winter War

What if the German assets that had been committed to the invasions of Norway and Denmark were instead offered to Finland in early 1940 to fight against the Soviet invasion?

Of course this would likely be as apart of an earlier German DOW on Russia, but how would Finland fare in this scenario?

They would violate the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact and cut their own throats, as Stalin then cuts their supply of oil, food, rubber and metals they got from 1939-41. The Germans supported the Soviets invading Finland as part of their agreement and helped enforce an arms embargo on Finland as part of the deal IOTL. Plus then letting the Brits conquer Norway fucks them really badly in terms of accessing Swedish iron ore and sets up a British invasion of Sweden to take it over. It would be about the worst choice they could make.

That same day, Stalin received assurance that Germany would approve secret protocols to the proposed non-aggression pact that would place half of Poland (border along the Vistula river), Latvia, Estonia, Finland, and Bessarabia in the Soviets' sphere of influence.[80]

Nazi Germany allowed arms to pass through Sweden to Finland, but after a Swedish newspaper made this fact public, Adolf Hitler initiated a policy of silence towards Finland, as part of improved German–Soviet relations following the signing of the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact.[171]

Why Hitler would violate M-R pact only some months after signing? I can't see that serving any purpose and probably it would be just harmful for Nazis.

I suppose a more likely answer would have to be that this would happen in a world without the M-R Pact, although the butterflies from that (involving Poland, too) would certainly make the whole question moot, I imagine.

Would Stalin attack to Finland without being sure that some European power support that? Someone another Soviet leader might do that but Stalin was practical enought that he wouldn't do that if he even suspect that whole Europe would turn against him.

Stalins intelligence branch had told him that Finland was rife with class strife, and that many of the populous would welcome an invading Soviet Army, they figured that they would be dictating peace terms in Helsinki within 10 days. This information, was more likely based on what they knew that Stalin wanted to hear, rather then any actual intelligence gathered (obviously). I can't find any records on what they actually gathered though.

would think if they were determined to aid Finland it would be during M-R Pact negotiations? but they would have to make concessions elsewhere?
