The Nazi Environmental Policy got me thinking.
Assuming Nazi Germany survived to the present day, would it really be first to launch a satellite into orbit? A manned capsule to orbit? A manned mission to the moon? to mars?
Many people would automatically say yes to the first three, and a substantial number would say yes to four. But.......
I'm not so sure about the third one. Would Himmler support such if he was Fuhrer? Would Goering support such? Remember, the Apollo program was expensive, very much so. While a surviving Nazi Germany is going to have Von Braun, many of his plans were quite grandiose. Workable, but grandiose. And expensive. Would Nazi Germany support such schemes without a rival, just to show the zenith of "Aryan" science?
And if Nazi Germany does go to the moon, what rocket would they use? Something closer to NOVA, or a more reasonable Saturn V type rocket?
