For almost his entire reign of terror, The Fuhrer's immediate successor was Reichtag President Hermann Goering. An ace pilot in World War I, Goering joined the Nazi Party in the early 1920s and gained an anti-semitic attitude, mainly because the party required him to.

Lets say Hitler died earlier than he did in OTL, how would Goering run the Third Reich? I think we can all agree that Nazi Germany wouldn't get to the level it did without Hitler, since Hitler was Nazi Germany. If anybody else was in charge, The Reich would crumble.

What's interesting with Nazi Germany is it gone through two different eras in its 12 years. The first half was before World War 2, and the second half was during the war. Assuming history stays the same before 1939, an successful assasination on Hitler's life can butterfly away World War 2 and the Holocaust.

If Hitler was killed during World War 2, Goering would more than likely have uncondintionally surrendered, and the Nazi regime would've been outlawed earlier, as well as the war crime trials taking place at an earlier date.

That being said, what would Nazi Germany look like if Goering took over depending on the year? Pre-World War 2 and/or post World War 2. Would he have advocated the same racial policies Hitler did, or a tamer version?

Just interested in knowing.
