Nazi-balkanized France?

In Shattered World, the Germans split France into not only a Reich-occupied north, but the state of Aquitaine in the south alongside Vichy. In this old U.S.-is-in-five-parts-then-Central-Powers-win timeline the German Empire releases Picardy and Alsace-Lorraine (1930) after conquering France + a bunch of countries, for some reason. Also there's a Balkan super-state named "Panslavia." Eugh. Anyways, what were some ways the Germans could have partitioned France in WWII to weaken the Allies?

For the sake of responding i call first/second post! Now didnt we just have this thread *looks through pages* guess not. Well its not like its unrealistic, Germany could pretty much do what ever the hell it wants with France, and the French mainland isnt really in a position to resist, but just... why? I mean it might help gain some points with the French civilians if the north isnt occupied but the randomness of installing new governments on a people who dont really have many large differences to exploit will end... odd. Only (rational, there are plenty of irrational) reasons i can see for doing this is if they dont want to have to directly administer an occupied France, they dont want their collaborator governments to get to uppity, they think it would be easier to administer, or they are so manpower strapped that they need more collaborator governments and armies (which would only be stealing resources from Germany but what ever, and how good would a army that hate you be anyways? Whatever im just throwing out ideas)

But for the purpose of fun lets think... Alsace-Lorraine could be one. For the purposes of looking good on a map the Paris area could be given back to Vichy. Brittany is a good one, at least they have a sorta separate culture from the rest of France, not that they actually want to separate but that one is justifiable. It is unfortunately extremely conservative, soooo yeah. A Franche-Comte state (did i just say free state state?) operating under the name of Burgundy (without the duchy of burgundy). Hitler did have a soft spot for the Swiss ive heard. Normandy for um idk it has a historical precedent.

I feel like im ranting so ill stop now.

Check out Decades of Darkness for ideas.

Brittany is the most logical idea. Then, the nazis already annexed A-L, and I think they had plans for moving the French-German border back to whenever it was farthest to the west. The Languedoc (where people speak Occitan dialect) would also be a possibility. And what about making Paris an independent city-state?

The Nazis paid lip-service to Breton nationalists but they didn't do anything more. Vichy was all they needed.

Himmler had a bit of a fixation with an SS-ruled Burgundy - and wouldn't such a creation be another great display of the batshit insanity of the SS.

The Nazis if they wished to break France up could have recreated Occitania, Britanny and give Savoy and Corsica to Italy.
Perhaps even re-create Normandy.
National Socialist Republics could have been created in Aragon, Catalonia, Galacia, Eskudi, Andalucia and Castile had they invaded Spain too.
