Nazi Backed Redemption Program?

Would it in any way have been possible for the Nazi's to start some sort of 'redemption' program involving those they considered 'undesirables'? With the reason for them taking part being that those who volunteer for the program are made exempt from the harsh treatment they'd otherwise get.

By this I mean something along the lines of "Join the military and fight for honor! Prove that you are not a traitor to the Fatherland!" . . . With a few all Jewish divisions raised from this. Or another method of 'redemption' being volunteering for specific factory or construction jobs that would be more dangerous than usual.

Now obviously this wouldn't be nice even if instigated. Civilian 'redemption' is doing really dangerous work. Those who go for military 'redemption' would almost certainly find their units being used for tasks with the highest probability of suffering heavy losses.

I'm asking about this because up until things got really bad, there were a lot of people classified as 'undesirables' who still considered themselves German and wanted to contribute to the 'glory of the Fatherland'.

If such a thing did happen, could it have been extended to peoples in conquered areas? Would there be Slav divisions? How many people could you see taking part if doing so meant, on paper anyways, you weren't going to be treated like less than filth?

Would the Final Solution still come to pass for those who don't volunteer?

How could these extra divisions and a larger workforce change the war?

I doubt it. Nazi ideology said there was something intrinsically wrong with all the "undesirables", not something that would be able to be "refuted" through patriotism. In fact, this scheme would probably be rejected as inviting the formation of a fifth column in Germany. The Nazis wanted the Jews etc. either out or dead.

It would probably require Hess to be more influential. He proposed a plan (I can't recall the name of it) where Jews who had served in WW1 or where the direct decendents of a WW1 veteran would be allowed to keep their German citizenship. Hess seemed to be of the opinion that this would improve Germany's image versus the night of broken glass and the Nuremberg laws which didn't help them on the world stage versus the English and the Americans.

Basically that would exempt huge parts of the Jewish community within Germany from the Nuremberg laws and I would suppose the younger ones would get used as labor battalions or the like (I can't see Hitler letting them in the Heer even if Hess was able to talk him out of the final solution) Having a million more laborers of at least some skill probably results in a stronger atlantic wall or maybe the wotan line is more completely constructed prior to kursk

Germany still gets its ass handed to them... and probably nuked

Hmm, I think you are right. Talk about unintended consquences!

Try to soften the Nazis, thus aid their war effort, and so they get nuked for their troubles.

Would have a surviving Jewery in Germany. Could butterfly away Isreal.
