Obviously only a "small" minority of Germans view the old Nazi regime with anything other then revulsion. However, I don't think this was inevitable- just look at the general nostalgia for the CSA among white Southerners. Or the attitude of Japan and various European countries to their imperial past. Clearly one's ethnic/historical identity can trump guilt for wrong's that have been committed.
The simplest route to my mind would be for the Nazis to not commit the Holocaust- they're not appreciably worse then the CSA or WW2 Japan if you set aside that genocide. Alternatively/additionaly the Germans being treated worse by occupying forces(their were some pretty sadistic plans for partition and deindustrilization) might do it.
