Natal as an independent country?

When South Africa began its turn to a Republic I remember that Natalia threatened to secede and to remain a part of the Commonwealth with the Queen in charge. Would the South Africans let this happen, or would they crush any revolt.

I doubt they have the steam to do so on their own. Economically, politically and demographically they are strongly connected to the rest of South Africa.
 
True, but they did have a more Loyalist attitude. And they did have the Natal Covenant. But they may have just been a couple thousand people. Im not sure.
