Napoleonic Spain Without Even Conquering It

You know how the Peninsular War led to Napoleon's defeat in the Napoleonic Wars? Well, here's the irony: Spain WAS an ally of Napoleon. But instead of what just happened, Napoleon offered a marriage between Isabella and Joseph, uniting the two empires. How does this affect the world?

But Isabella wasn't born until 1830, and in fact Spain started the Napoleonic Wars as an ally of France. It is hard to do, I suppose, at least legally, as neither Charles IV or Ferdinand VII would actually want to lose their throne, especially true for the ambitious Ferdinand who had already tried to overthrow his father twice before the abdications of Bayonne. Perhaps you could marry him to a Bonaparte? Perhaps Elisa?

Remember the Peninsular War started in support of the Portuguese, not the Spanish.
England (later Britain) has had the Old Alliance with Portugual since the 13th Centrury (and is by my calculation the only European country that England has not been at war with!)
