Napoleonic political parties

I've looked around for this topic but surprisingly little came up - what are your views on the future of the political system under a surviving French Empire, had Napoleon I stayed in post and passed on to an heir? Would there be government by referendum? Would there be elections? If so, what parties and ideologies could form?

Probably France would develope towards more parliamentary system after Napoleon I. But emperor might has still much power. I could imaginate there being some bicameral system.

Probably there is quiet similar parties like in other European countries.

I agree with Lalli, after Napoleon I, the more dictatorial aspects of the regime will give way to a constitutional monarchy. The army is still going to be a key institution and political player.

As for parties, probably a dominant conservative party that supports protectionism and rapid industrialization, with Catholic trappings, and a liberal party that takes a moderate stance, based in the rural population and the lower middle classes.

More or less the same ones as OTL, no? Except with different emphasis and leadership. A kind of liberal/reform conservatism (Orleanists), traditionalist reactionaries, radical liberals (pseudo-Jacobins), etc.

The Emperor would probably have to balance the two right wing parties

Would it be likely, that a socialist or worker or labor party could replace or weaken the liberals between 1880 and 1940 as long as a large part of the population has the right to vote and industrialization happens? (Like in OTL in many countries)
