So lets say Napoleon wins the Napoleonic wars, either he never puts Joseph on the throne of Spain, thus avoiding getting pinned down in the Peninsular war or succeeds in defeating Russia (perhaps he heads for Saint Petersburg?) the point is all of Europe is cowed by Napoleon and the UK is eventually forced to make peace. So what happens next? How long could Napoleon's empire last? Would the various Client states he created remain Client states, similar to the Roman Client King system or would they eventually revolt? Would we see a restored Kingdom of Poland? What would the Empire look like in a sustained period of Peace? What about Napoleons grandiose plans for his son? Would we see a Palais du Roi de Rome built outside Paris? What about his plan to have the King of Rome crowned as such in St. Peters by the Pope? And speaking of the Pope, what would happen to the Papacy? Would it become similar to the Church in Russia, a department of the Government? Or would it be more like the Avignon Papacy? With the Church semi-independent but under French protection? And how would the Pope be chosen? Freely or would the candidate be nominated by Napoleon and approved by the Conclave, like how it was during the early Holy Roman Empire? Basically what would Europe and the rest of the World look like with a lasting First French Empire?
