Napoleon to Istanbul

Is there a possibility that Napoleon Bonaparte when over his head and decided to invade Ottoman Empire? Maybe because of Ottoman rivalry against Austria? Or maybe because he thought that invading Ottoman Egypt wasn't enough?
What POD would do best for this?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, he did. That led to things like the Battles of Nazareth and Acre.

Battle of Nazareth and Acre?
Can you be more specific?
Is this in OTL or alternate one?
OTL. He invaded Egypt in 1798 (which was still a part of the Ottoman empire), then went on to Syria, struggled against Djezzar Pasha, then after defeat in Syria, ran back to Egypt. He didn't stay there long as he soon ran back to France with his tail between his legs. Actually one of Napoleons worst defeats, he even abandoned what remained of his army in Egypt.

What if Napoleon invaded Ottoman from Europe? From the Balkans?
(without any campaign in Egypt, of course)
Let's just say that capturing Constantinople would be more 'romantic' than just Cairo.

Nope, he was ordered to go to Egypt by the Directorie government in France (who he would overthrown on his return) in order to mess with a route to British India. The British had tp priority over the Ottomans, and for a while it seemed like the French just thought the Ottomans would not mind having Egypt invaded but alas they did.
