Napoleon II King of Greece

Just a nomenclatura thing, probably would be Napoleon III, Napoleon II is his child, even if he never reigned he is still counted out of respect :)

Napoleon II ("The Eaglet"/King of Rome) was the grandson of Francis I of Austria. OP is saying what if Francis I placed Napoleon II (Franz's grandson) on the throne of Greece.

And actually, if he was made King of Greece, he'd be Napoleon I.

Well considering the OTL king of Greece Otto didn't began his reign until 1833 you have to prevent Napoleon II from catching and dying of pneumonia in 1832. Also would the other European powers accept Napoleon II, I assume it would give Austria a great degree of infulence in Greece? Weren't the otl candidates for the throne like Pedro of Portugal and Otto of Bavaria from minor powers in order to prevent any one of the major powers from having to much infulence?

Actually it might. He could be next in line if Napoleon II dies as per OTL.

Inheritance rules could be interesting but a Napoleon III at the age of 25 as King of Greece would be exciting?!
I'd rather see the Eaglet on the throne of Greece than that idiot.

For this you'd have to see an Austrian involvement in the Greek War of Independence. Maybe when the Russians intervene we also see the Austrians intervene as the Russians' ally. With this dual intervention combined with the British and French waging a naval war against the Turks you'd probably see a bigger Greece. The Russians would also be gain land, more so than OTL. Whilst the Austrian gains would be restricted with them giving up most of them to put Napoleon in place as King of Greece. This is something that the British could agree to with some convincing and some argument about the possibility of Russian Straits. But its hard to see the French accept this, which means that the Austrians will have to make some sort of concession to them.

May not be Nappy II, but how about Eugene?

How about Nappy decides to favor the Hapsburgs as an European Ally, and wanting a strong Polish state to help contain Russia.

France, Russia, and Austria gang on the Ottomans, driving them out of Europe. Austria gets a good bit of Italy and much of Prussia (which gets partitioned between Austria, Russia, and Poland) , gives a sliver of Polish land to Warsaw and Nappy installs Poniatowski as King of the Poles, and Eugene as King of the Greeks, with at least one of them marrying into the Hapsburgs.

That's simply an entirely different scenario with a drastically different Napoleonic War

From Wikipedia: On 4 April 1814, Napoleon abdicated in favour of his toddler son after the Six Days' Campaign and the Battle of Paris. The three-year-old became Emperor of the French under the regnal name of Napoleon II. However, on 6 April 1814, Napoleon I fully abdicated and renounced not only his rights to the French throne, but his descendants' rights also.

That's the Bonapartist argument for the numbering.
