thats what i thought; wills such a nice guy? Anyway, to break the whole secret, this is a TL on 1848 Chartism. Europe experienced revolution all over the place; WI the Chartists had crossed the Thames. The Army had threatened to massacre the whole 50,000 if they attempted a coup. Obviously that wasnt their intention, but what if they decided to send their petition directly to the powers that be (correct me if im wrong)? Would we see revolution? Would the ideas of the Communist Manifesto seep into any future uprising? Ideas?

Depends what Will your talking about. :) Its also the name of one of the most evil pestilences ever to infect Britain, although the good sergeant is nearly 800 years too late. [But then I could be considered bias;)] Just wondering where you got the sargeants name from? Was there an actual Sergeant Wilson in the forces at the time or are you basing him on a fictional figure from TV?;)

Think a lot would depend on how people react to the massacre. A lot worse than the Peterloo one right in the heart of government. Will raise temperatures a lot and likely to lead to a lot of violence. However may also , hopefully, prompt a reaction from more moderate elements in power who will realise that reform is necessary urgently. Not sure how much influence a certain consort had at that time but from what I've read he would realise the danger.

Im making Wilson up as an arbitrary character; hes just the man that carries the order out. Im thinking next the Army sweeps across the bridges and massacre A LOT.

Ah. Possibly just my age but wondering it you had got him from Warminghamton-on-Sea when I saw the name.:D

All ok so far? Or a plausability check?

Seems OK although very difficult to tell how things might have gone. Would hope with such a massacre that there would be a very strong reaction. Ideally hopefully avoiding the worst of a bitter civil war but enabling a serious change in the balance of power. Britain was still a very radical place in many ways at the time and could have seen a big radicalisation of the nation without hopefully going into excesses of idealogical revolution.
