It seems that Mussolini the Mad hatter was almost excommunicated from the Catholic Church. So the What if is if he pissed off the pope enough to get excommunicated.

Would he get kicked out or would he cling on. And if he does he gets kicked would Nazi Germany go better without Italy and its 8 million bayonets of untrained troops.

I doubt he'd be forced out of anything. Excommunication simply isn't that serious of an offense anymore, doubly so for a strongman like El Duce.

I believe it as been ask and answer before, but here is my take.

Yes it will be better for the Germans if Italy is out for the fallowing reasons:

1. No need to seed troops to Africa
2. No need to seed troops to Greece
3. Italy on the eastern front wasn't of much help poorly equipped, poorly trained, and to top thinks up not that interested in the war.

No it will not be for the wallowing reasons or reason

1. Even a poorly equipped, poorly trained army as value,in for example fighting partisans with out the Italians the Germans or there allies will have to divert troops form the front to deal with the partizans.

An then there are other forms of participating in an war,for ex Italians could have supply the axis with equipment: trucks, ammunition ,weapons etc. So an Italy that is not in the war directly but supplies the axis with equipment can be of grater help.
