There were few requests for Czechoslovak timeline here. So after some consideration lets give it some try.

(Czechoslovakia during life of General Milan Rastislav Stefanik)

CZECH AND SLOVAKS IN EXILE
Clevland agreement from October 22nd 1915 was one of first documents in which Czechs and Slovaks living in USA declared their planes to created common state of Czech and Slovaks after Austro Hungarian defeat.

Meanwhile in Paris Milan Rastislav Stefanik returned from Serbian front for medical treatments. Stefanik who lived in France since before the war, worked as a successful scientist and an astronomer. For his success on field of science he was awarded Legion d'Honneur. After War started as French citizen he joined French Air force and laid foundations of the military meteorological service in French Air Force. In August 1915 he served as a pilot in French Air Force on Serbia Front. Through his connections in French high society and his connections with Prime Minister Brand and Minister of Foreigner Affairs Berthelot building the route for their meeting with representatives of Czech and Slovaks in Exile.

Stefanik after his meetings with Masaryk and Benes when their discussed their visions of commons state of Czechs and Slovaks was finally able to introduce professor Masaryk to higher circle of French politicians. In 1916 they created Czechoslovak National Council which would coordinate efforts of Czech and Slovaks to create their own independent democratic state. Milan Rastislav Stefanik who at the time served as a French General served as well as Minister of War of Czechoslovakia and a vice-chairman of Czechoslovak National Council.

Even before however base for Czechoslovak Legions and later Czechoslovak Army was created when many Czech and Slovaks already in 1914 volunteered to French and Russian Armies. In 1916 Stefanik started to organize Czechoslovak legions as an armed forces of Czechoslovak in exile. In late stage of war Stefanik was with their parts in Russia during hard 1918 events. Over 60 000 Czechoslovak legionaries served in Russia, almost 10 000 in France and almost 20 000 in Italy.

On May 31 1918 in USA Pittsubrg agreement was reached between Czech and Slovaks in USA on position of Slovakia in future republic. Text was formulated by Masaryk during his mission in USA and per Slovak representatives’ request part was added which requested function of President or Prime Minister to be floating between Czech and Slovak politicians equally. In case president is Czech Prime Minister has to be chosen from among Slovak politicians and vice versa. In case there was a Czech president and after his term or terms is finished Slovak politician will acquire position.

In Washington declaration Masaryk on October 18th 1918 as a head of Czechoslovak government in exile declared independence of Czechoslovakia.

On October 26th representatives of Ruthens in USA signed in Philadelphia agreement with Masaryk in which Carpathian Rus become part of Czechoslovakia.

Few days later on October 28th in Prague and independently on October 30th in Martin, Slovakia Czechoslovak republic was proclaimed. Longtime dream of Czechs and Slovaks come to life. Will the reality fulfill the dreams?
