Oh thanks! I really love the pixel art in yours! And I'll admit I thought about going for that setting (communism as a religion) but your setting is just outstandingly better than mine would have been, really nice work.
And yeah I'll admit the setting became much darker than I had originally planned. A true Dark Age.
I had a hard time doing that Stalin guy and I thought I couldn't do it !
How could you have imagined "religious communism" yourself?
I didn't think things thoroughly through, but certainly the Hammer and Sickle as an alt-cross, and then a Bible made of the stitched up remnants of the Communist texts. Although perhaps I'd have them worship the very concept of the Soviet Union over that of the "prophets". Get into the spirit of socialism, after all.
A great idea for inspiration here could be a weird tradition the old people in the most communist areas in my country do and I could imagine old Russians having a similar tradition: here, it is quite common having a picture of the old communist leader side by side with a picture of the Virgin Mary. And, of course, upon death donating the lands to the Communist Party, like one would to the Church.
