I know most of these figures are not particularly nice dudes, so I used the word most successful instead of my normal word greatest. If there is anyone I am missing please feel free to list them in comments.
Hernando Cortes- Mexico
Francisco Pizarro- Colombia, Peru
Diego De Almagro- Chili
Ponce De Leon- Florida
Hernando De Soto- Mississippi River
Nunez De Balboa- Pacific Ocean
Pedro De Alvarado- Mexico
Juan Elcano- attempts another circumnavigation of globe but fails
Francis Xavier- Malaysia, China, Japan
